How do you measure the ground when it’s underwater?
Join Jeremy Brogan from Brogan Group at the Seafloor Systems and Teledyne Marine live demonstration in St. Petersburg, Florida, for a hands-on look at hydrographic surveying, unmanned survey boats, and underwater mapping technology.
The event featured Seafloor’s EchoBoat-240 and HyDrone survey platforms alongside Teledyne Marine sonar and survey equipment—showing how these systems collect information about the underwater environment.
For contractors, this technology connects directly to real project decisions:
• Understanding existing underwater conditions before construction.
• Planning dredging work and estimating material quantities.
• Checking progress and identifying areas that still need attention.
• Verifying the finished bottom against the project design.
With a background in major earthworks and marine construction, I’m interested in how this equipment helps teams make better decisions in the field.
Brogan Group already works with Emlid for land surveying and construction layout, and DOT3D for 3D scanning. Expanding into marine surveying brings that same focus on practical measurement technology below the water.
Thanks to the Seafloor Systems and Teledyne Marine teams for demonstrating the equipment and sharing their knowledge.
