Guo Gangtang’s story inspired the 2015 film Lost and Love by Hong Kong actor Andy Lau. It was an emotional reunion for the 51-year-old farmer and his wife, who finally rejoined their son Guo Xinzhen in eastern Shandong province, on July 11, 2021.
