The Minas Basin forms the eastern part of the Bay of Fundy. Several rivers drain into the Minas Basin. The Minas Basin is renowned for having the worlds highest tides. But the mud flats which characterise the Minas Basin and much of the Bay of Fundy are a very important habitat for millions of shorebirds, including the sandpiper. The Minas Basin area was declared a Hemispheric Shorebird Reserve in 1988. And also designated a Ramsar site; Wetlands of International Importants. This clip was taken in the Southern Bight section of the Minas Basin in the Windsor/Falmouth area. Hope you enjoy!
