In this episode of The Closeted Hour, we step into one of the most powerful tools we carry within us: our voice. Too often, we silence ourselves out of fear, doubt, or the belief that our words don’t hold weight—but our voice is not only the way we communicate, it’s the bridge between our inner world and the outer one.
I’ll unpack the art of using your voice with intention—when to speak, when to listen, and how to discern the right spaces and people to share your truth with. We’ll explore how voice isn’t just volume or sound, but clarity, courage, and timing. Whether it’s setting boundaries, telling your story, or simply asking for what you need, finding your voice is about reclaiming agency in a world that often asks us to shrink.
From there, the coaching portion of this episode dives into the healing practice of writing as a way of voicing what lives beneath the surface. I’ll guide you through using the page as a safe container—where you can unearth your experiences, write freely without judgment, and begin to shape raw emotions into something tangible and powerful. We’ll talk about the importance of sharing these writings, too, because words don’t just heal the writer—they ripple outward and spark connection, resonance, and even transformation in others.
To close, I’ll share some of my own words aloud, reading selected poems from my collection Substance. These poems are pieces of my story, my battles, and my reflections—proof that voice can be both fragile and fierce, deeply personal yet universally understood. My hope is that hearing them reminds you of your own capacity to speak, write, and create from the depths of your truth.
This episode is about more than communication—it’s about liberation. By claiming your voice, you claim yourself.
