Game Info --------------------------------------------------- Developer: Cave Publisher: Nihon Systems Year of Release: 1999 Game Review & Impressions --------------------------------------------------- If you were to blend DoDonPachi with a funk-rock-disco infused soundtrack, Fever SOS (AKA Dangun Feveron) is the result. It's a continuation of Cave's masterful modernisation of the 2D vertical scrolling shooter, featuring all the explosions, pizazz, and just general visual spectacle we've come to associate with games from the studio. Unsurprisingly, this game represents one of the toughest games of its kind, but I didn't find it as egregiously difficult as some other Cave shooters. It'll have your head on a platter the moment you lose concentration, but the kind of ridiculous bullet-hell boss fights from, say, DoDonPachi II, are mercifully absent. If you enjoy these games, then strap in and buckle up - you can't go wrong with this.
