AN ACT TO CREATE A SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM PROVIDING SICKNESS, UNEMPLOYMENT, RETIREMENT, DISABILITY AND DEATH BENEFITS FOR EMPLOYEES SSS provides income support to government/ private sector employees and their families in times of contingencies like death, old age, sickness, and disability arising from work, and are financed out of the contribution of members and their employers. Basically, the SSS provides for a replacement of income lost on account of the aforementioned contingencies. The benefits under the Social Security Program are: 1. Sickness 2. Maternity 3.
