Trains in Hämeenlinna 25.2.2026 part 2/2

25.2.2026 I visited Hämeenlinna and main purpose of my visit was to catch shunter of Hämeenlinna in action and I indeed managed to film Dr19-class diesel locomotive shunting variety of rakes. City of Hämeenlinna is located along Helsinki-Tampere -main line and it is busy station for passenger traffic, being served by both commuter and intercity trains. On freight side, Hämeenlinna serves both as a timber loading area, as well as local yard serving nearby steel mill. In this second part of the video we see shunter returning from steel mill with rake of wagons bound to Tampere, timber train leaving for Kouvola pulled by Sr1-class electric locomotive, steel train arriving from Rautaruukki yard in Raahe pulled by 2 Sr3-class electric locomotives, empty wagons being brought from Hanko pulled by Sr1-class electric locomotive and mixed freight train leaving to Tampere pulled by 2 Sr3-class electric locomotives. We also get a glimpse of shunter taking steel wagons to steel mill.
