Guided by Ajahn Sujato and Ajahn Brahm, Ayya transitioned to the Theravada Forest tradition in 2009 to pursue a deeper focus on meditation and strict Vinaya practice. After over a decade as one of the founding members and Senior Bhikkhuni of Newbury Buddhist Monastery, she returned to Singapore in Sep 2025.
