Premiere: Jakwyre - Ghosts In The Sub Outsource Records

Jakwyre - Alignment LP. Hearing all the tracks for the first time, the nostalgia and the purity it all had. Automatically my mind was thinking of all the technical aspects of advice I could give but it dawned on me (from personal experience too) Sometimes all the modern technical attributes and the loudness wars where substituting the emotive value, so much so it's not even music just sonically clean noises. All the tricks of the trade I knew would almost definitely compromise that, compromise the feeling it gave me. And that's the whole reason I started Outsource. I wanted to recapture that feeling, it's not just music for the club. It's not just for shits and giggles over a couple drinks, there's a seriousness and a headspace to it that's provocative in an ancient way. This LP is the opposite of what's "acceptable" and testament to Jakwyre for holding that message in a bottle after all these years and being able to rekindle something special to me. The Album is a big fat brick dropped on the "purest" side of the scale. So if you like DnB from how it used to be, this piece is an absolute pleasure.
