MAVERICK — A Summer in Alaska In the summer of 2026, I traveled to Seward, Alaska, to work as a bellman at Windsong Lodge. What began as another seasonal job became another chapter in a life I chose several years ago when I walked away from a comfortable, predictable life in Phoenix and began traveling, working seasonal jobs, meeting new people, and accepting a lot more uncertainty. This film is about more than Alaska. It’s about the people I met, the work I came to love, the price of seasonal living, and why—at 59—I continue choosing experience over comfort. I don’t necessarily recommend this life to everyone. The price of the adventure can be high. But for me, it’s a price I’m willing to pay. Alaska keeps pulling me back.
