#11- Breaking the Rules? Hempcrete as a Supporting Wall (Here’s How)

We're back with our first video of 2024. In this one we build a structural, hempcrete feature wall. Hempcrete isn't strong enough on its own so we had to get creative with how we built it. We built a standard stud wall with reinforcements and the wrapped the studs and noggins in a fire rated plasterboard, we then encased this with a hempcrete mix, which we mixed by hand and placed around the wall. To our knowledge this technique hasn't been done before. Hempcrete is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional building materials that is not only more affordable but also offers a range of benefits.
