Fast Code, Slow Growth? Developers in the Age of AI – Joren Vangeel – HelloStavanger 2026

Fast Code, Slow Growth? Developers in the Age of AI #HelloStavanger AI has made developers faster than ever. Tasks that once took hours now take minutes. But this raises an uncomfortable question: are we actually getting better? In this session, we explore how AI is changing the way developers learn, think, and grow. Why do some developers improve faster than ever, while others plateau? Why are junior developers both empowered and at risk? From a mentor’s perspective, you’ll gain a clearer understanding of how AI shapes your growth as a developer and what it takes to stay sharp in a world where speed is no longer the differentiator.
