Spend 24 hours exploring the stunning Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia — from Surfers Paradise and HOTA to beachfront markets, golden-hour views, local food and spectacular night scenes across the skyline. In this Gold Coast travel vlog, we travel from Brisbane by train and tram and begin our adventure in Southport, including a quick visit to Chinatown and lunch at a local Thai restaurant. We then check into the Crowne Plaza and take in incredible 180° views from our room on the 23rd floor. From the balcony, the scale of the Gold Coast skyline really comes alive, with landmarks including The Langham towers and the iconic Q1 building. Later, we take the tram to Surfers Paradise and continue to HOTA — Home of the Arts, one of Australia's major cultural precincts. We explore the galleries, outdoor performance areas and waterfront surroundings before heading back toward Surfers Paradise for golden hour. As the sun begins to set, we visit the Surfers Paradise beachfront markets and meet local artisans selling handmade jewellery, opals, leather products, shell lampshades and other unique creations. One of the most interesting moments is watching a live demonstration of pearls being removed from oysters. We also see beach volleyball at sunset, sample local treats, explore the famous Surfers Paradise beachfront and learn about restoration work following Cyclone Alfred. As night falls, the Gold Coast takes on a completely different atmosphere. We explore the city centre, find dinner, visit a traditional Irish pub and finally return to our hotel by tram for beautiful nighttime views across the illuminated skyline.
