So... last Friday night I was at a Black Flag 🏁🖤concert, riding a massive adrenaline high, when my producer cornered me in person with a crazy proposition: Orlando pop punk band Dearly Beloved needs a fill-in bass player for their upcoming tour slot. Without thinking, post-concert delusion took over and I confidently said YES. There’s just one tiny problem: I have NEVER played bass before in my life. 🎸😅 Now, the clock is officially ticking. I have exactly 13 days to learn a 9-song setlist completely from scratch—7 originals and 2 covers—before we take the stage at Conduit in Winter Park, FL to open up for Jady on The Nosebleeds Tour.
