How jivas are one and different from the Lord? | SB 3.28.40–41 | HG Mahavishnu Dasa

Welcome to the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam class by HG Mahavishnu Dasa, recorded at Hare Krishna Golden Temple. In Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 3.28.40–41, Lord Kapiladeva explains the distinction between the Supreme Lord, the individual soul, and material nature through the analogy of fire, flames, sparks, and smoke. Just as fire, its flames, sparks, and smoke are closely connected yet distinct, the individual soul and the Supreme Lord are not identical. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, known as Parambrahman, is the supreme observer, distinct from the individual living entity, the material elements, the senses, and the mind. These verses help us understand our spiritual identity, our relationship with the Supreme Lord, and the importance of seeing reality through spiritual knowledge rather than material identification. 📖 What You Will Learn • The spiritual significance of the fire, sparks, flames, and smoke analogy • The difference between the individual soul and the Supreme Personality of Godhead • Why the living entity should not identify the self with the material body and mind • The position of the Supreme Lord as the supreme observer • How material nature and the living entities are connected to the Lord • The Vaishnava understanding of the relationship between the Lord and the individual soul • How spiritual knowledge helps us advance in Krishna consciousness 🎙️ Speaker: HG Mahavishnu Dasa 📍 Venue: Hare Krishna Golden Temple 📚 Scripture: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Canto 3, Chapter 28, Verses 40–41 🙏 If this class deepens your understanding of spiritual life, please LIKE, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE for more Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam discourses and devotional teachings. 🔔 Turn on notifications so you can join us for upcoming classes.
