MTA BxM10 Bus Ride: 2013 MCI D4500CT 2260 From Baychester to Midtown

Taken on 9/1/26. Video of a weekday afternoon bus ride on MTA 2013 MCI D4500CT 2260 operating on the BxM10 bus route between Baychester in The Bronx and Midtown Manhattan. Service operates via Eastchester Road, Morris Park Ave, Sheridan Boulevard (NY-895), and Bruckner Expwy (I-278) in The Bronx. In Manhattan inbound buses operate via 2nd Avenue, 86th Street and 5th Avenue. Bus 2260 is one of several MCI D4500CTs previously assigned to Queens Village Depot. As part of a major express bus fleet swap in 2024-2025, many ended up going to MTA Bus Company depots. This arose from public scrutiny regarding cancelled buses from inadequate maintenance levels out on Staten Island. Many buses were not safely operational at once and could not go out to make service, so both local and express bus fleets were swapped with other depots. Many of the local buses were swapped with NYCT depots in Brooklyn and Queens, while the express buses from MTABC depots sent to SI. The SI buses initially went to Eastchester Depot and Ulmer Park. However that changed and eventually Queens Village received Prevosts in exchange for much of their MCI D4500CTs. A rundown of the trip will be provided soon. Thanks for watching!
