Schindler M SERIES TOUCH SENSITIVE Traction Elevators at The JW Marriott in Admiralty, Hong Kong

Filmed on June 27th, 2026. For many years, the only Schindler M Series Elevator I ever got to see was the shuttle elevator that served the top floor of the Bank of America Tower in Tampa, and that elevator was only a 2 story Hydraulic AND it had the push button version of Schindler M Series rather than the Touch Sensitive version of the fixtures. Schindler M Series fixtures and Miconic V & Aconic have always been very rare in the US to begin with as Schindler didn't exist in the US until 1989 and thus all M Series installations were imports done by SchindlerHaughton, however over the years, the few known installations that DID exist in the United States have been gradually biting the dust, and as of now, there are only 2 known installs left in the US. The Hydro in Tampa, and the ones in Toledo that ‪@DieselDucy‬ ‪@JimLiElevators‬ & several others have filmed, and those ones are the only known Touch Sensitive ones left. At the rate things have been going, I never imagined I'd see more Schindler M Series in my lifetime, and I ESPECIALLY never imagined I'd see one of the Touch Sensitive ones EVER, but I got to visit Hong Kong, and while these fixtures may be near extinct in North America, Hong Kong is LOADED with these fixtures! This was the first of AT LEAST 20 that I saw when I was in the area! Seeing these was definitely a real treat, and these beautiful elevators have been serving this hotel from the past 37 years now. The cabs appear to have been redone, and the indicators were definitely upgraded at some point, but otherwise these are fully original with their LEGENDARY & MUSICAL Chimes, and these elevators both look very modern & futuristic as well as very luxurious for their age. I have to give huge props to this JW for keeping these original, and I hope they continue to do so for years to come. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go very high on these as they are totally carded above 7, but I at least got to ride these a bit and Touch the beautiful M Series buttons for the first time, so either way I'm happy. Stay tuned for SEVERAL of these to come as this was the first of many of these legendary elevators I saw here, which are seemingly rare everywhere else, but plentiful in Hong Kong! Installed in 1989.
