This tune ("Kattegat") is an excerpt from the second night. _________________________________________ The Italian composer, piano and bandoneon player, Paolo Russo presents his new Scandinavian Trio, as the culmination of his 30 years of music life in Denmark. Paolo's initial fascination with the “Nordiske tone” has never faded and became an integrated part of his personal sound, elegantly combined with a variety of other elements, morphing into a kaleidoscopic journey across Italian flavours, classical tones, Nordic landscapes, South-American rhythms, with a distant echo of Argentine tango. Paolo brings with him two amazing companions: Thommy Andersson on contrabass and the 7-string guitarist, Jeppe Holst, while he will play the both piano and bandoneon. Although the piano is his first instrument, the presence of the bandoneon reminds unmistakably of the atmospheres of Buenos Aires - a place that Paolo has visited continuously since 2000, for over 14 years, in a prolonged, deep dive within the vibrant tango environment. Featuring the concert is the Norwegian trumpet player, Gunnar Halle, known for his unique heart-warming sound and lyrical phrasing, that tells stories from the deep fjords and rocky inlands - a perfect match for Paolo’s unique music universe. www.paolorusso.com
