A Short Game Launch Monitor On Your Phone

We've shown you how to hit chip shots with Strike Wedge, now we have a way for you to measure too. Strike Wedge Launch is our brand new app for iPhone. It's a launch monitor for your short game. Mount the phone in the holder, or lean it against something steady, put a ball down and hit. The phone films every shot at 240 frames a second and reads it back to you: ball speed, launch angle and carry distance, with a slow motion replay of the strike. It speaks the result, so you never have to look at the screen. No account, no sign-in, and it works offline. Why those numbers? Your carry distance is determined by ball speed and launch angle. To control those two, you have to strike it properly. The wedge trains the strike. The app tells you whether the work is paying off. There are games built in, so a practice session turns into a score. The Daily Challenge gives every golfer in the world the same target each day. Three shots, one attempt, and a global leaderboard. The Testing Centre gives you a wedge handicap on a golf-style scale, so you can see where your wedge game really sits and watch it move. It's built for the scoring shots from inside 150 yards. Hit into a net at home, at the club, or on the range. Strike Wedge Launch is on the App Store from 13 October. The Daily Challenge, ten measured shots a day and the replay are free.
