R. E. M. - The One I Love (live in Athens GA - Aug. 19, 1987 - soundboard M1)

A sample track from the new Document, Reconsidered project (aka The Athens Variations) from the dB's Repercussion Blog. A reassessment of the band's 5th album as a noisier, crunchier, more "angular" statement as originally envisioned by guitarist Peter Buck. Alternate live and studio takes (none officially released) for each track, some of them newly unearthed from a friend of the band in Athens in the 1980s (this track is one of those). Think of this compilation as a soundtrack to our present discontent. Find the whole thing in lossless sound quality at dbs-repercussion.blogspot.com PLEASE NOTE: the sound here is from a crappy MP3. Go to the blog to snag the entire compilation in lossless audio quality. I DENY & DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL RIGHTS. This is a project by music fans for other music fans. There is no monetization of this work that benefits the uploader in any way.
