SET — Before I Became the Villain | Ancient Egyptian God Song

Set is remembered today as one of the darkest figures in Egyptian mythology. The murderer of Osiris. The rival of Horus. The god of storms, desert, violence and disorder. But that is not the whole story. For much of ancient Egyptian history, Set was far more complicated than a simple villain. He represented the dangerous red land beyond Egypt’s fertile fields, the violence of storms and the uncertainty of the frontier. He could oppose Horus for the throne of Egypt — and still stand aboard the solar barque of Ra, fighting the serpent Apophis so the sun could rise again. Kings carried his name. Soldiers respected his strength. His cult remained powerful for centuries before his reputation gradually became darker. This song tells that story from Set’s own perspective. Not to make him innocent. Not to make him good. But to remember the god ancient Egypt actually knew. This is part of *Ancient Gods* — a series turning history, mythology and ancient belief into music. Listen to the song. Learn the story. Then go discover more. — SavageFocus #Set #AncientEgypt #EgyptianMythology
