Standard Chartered reported third-quarter profit that beat analysts’ estimates, driven by record net inflows into its wealth unit and robust trading activity, prompting the lender to raise its annual income and return targets. Deutsche Bank's revenue from fixed-income trading declined in the third quarter, meeting analyst estimates. The metric dropped 3% to €2.39 billion in the period, while pretax profit was €2.63 billion, exceeding forecasts. And UK Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healey said his first budget would deliver “breathing space” for Britain, as Andy Burnham’s new administration seeks to sustain a poll bounce at minimal cost.
