Joseon Royal Taekgil Culture in Suwon Hwaseong Construction - Kim Hye-ryeon (Hanyang University) Q&A Closing: Prof. Park Jeong-hae (Hanyang University) ■ Purpose of the Symposium (Excerpt from Poster) Myeongri Studies is an academic discipline that applies the natural principles of Yin-Yang and Five Elements to human life to analyze human nature and predict destiny. It has maintained its vitality throughout human history for its ability to provide hope for an uncertain future. While Western cultures have developed future prediction studies such as astrology and tarot, they have not reached the level of examining human nature and destiny on a philosophical foundation comparable to Eastern Myeongri Studies. Recently, some universities and graduate schools have established Myeongri Studies programs, producing specialized researchers with master's and doctoral degrees, achieving quantitative growth to some extent. However, in terms of quality, it still requires time to reach a satisfactory level. This Oriental Studies Symposium aims to share remarkable research achievements by several researchers who have utilized Myeongri Studies despite difficult domestic conditions, and to listen to proposals for future changes and development in Korea's Myeongri Studies field.
