"Les Canaries" 5:43 "Canary suite" is a free reflection on the richly ornamented keyboard music of French Baroque composer Françoise Couperin, court composer to Louis XIV. His titles themselves evoke a theatre of colorful characters, and his music's prolific ornamentation evokes layers of incessant growth and musical activity. My own music grows out of fragments of Couperin’s music, creating another layer of variation and elaboration.
