Testing Dr Neubauer ABS3 pro 1.7 mm on Dr Neubauer Matador Hybrid Carbon blade, with Xiom Jekyll & Hyde X47.5 on FH.
00:00-04:50 Testing block and attack with anti
04:50-05:20 Testing attack against back spin
05:20-06:25 Blocks and pushes
06:25-end Practice set
This thicker version of ABS 3 pro suits me better. It felt very controlled and still with the more direct feeling that the 1.3 version had, compared to ABS2 pro (2.0 mm). Blocks are safe and can be kept very short. With a firm grip of the bat and when the ball hits close to the handle, the block will be very low and with good back spin.
Also, attacking back spin with a lift or aggressive push is very easy. And it is more easy to hit against no spin drives or against slight top spin, compared to ABS2 pro.
This slower version makes the ball stop in the air a bit more than the 1.3 version. The throw angle on blocks is of course a bit higher with this thicker version. But it felt like the back spin on blocks was perhaps even better with this thicker version than with 1.3 mm (could be that the ball approaches slower to the attacker and therefore it feels like there is more back spin).
