Radiant Hands: Empowering Refugees, Mothers, and Families in Tampa Bay

Radiant Hands has been helping women and refugees across Temple Terrace and the Tampa Bay region — not with a one-time handout, but with skills, space, and a path to self-sufficiency. In this visit you’ll meet people who sew, cook, and sell through programs connected to the organization: commercial machines and a place to work, a catering kitchen staffed by talented newcomers, and a modest-fashion business given a small shop space. A longtime volunteer from a local catering company trains others and says the standard is simple: it has to be the best, or nothing. Partners include job-readiness support and financial literacy training. Many of the tailors had never sewn before a professional taught them in 2016. The idea is old and simple: teach someone to fish, and they eat for life — then they teach the next person. If you’re struggling and can’t find support, Radiant Hands is here for single mothers, refugees, and families. 13312 N. 56th St., Temple Terrace, FL 33617 Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM – 3 PM Phone: (813) 983-1700 | Fax: (813) 826-9971 tampa@radianthands.org | https://go.alphabravomedia.co/radiant... 501(c)(3) | Tax ID: 20-2966567 📚 Chapters: 0:00 Intro — Inside Radiant Hands 0:11 Mutava: From English class to a tailoring job 1:51 Where the work is sold 1:59 Hanan and specialty foods 3:20 Radiant Kitchen 3:42 Volunteer training and Dash of Salt & Pepper 4:08 Helping refugees start their own businesses 5:54 Teach them how to fish 6:08 Tasting the food 6:34 A student volunteer renews his intention 7:36 How Radiant Hands started 8:32 Partners, sewing machines, and self-sufficiency 9:27 Modest fashion shop 10:03 Gainesville beginnings and the Tampa office 10:37 From Helping Hands to Radiant Hands 11:10 Refugee resettlement in 2015 11:32 Single moms, counseling, and volunteers 12:11 They get you on your feet 12:59 A reminder from the Qur’an 14:05 How to support Radiant Hands 🕌 About Islamic Tampa TV Building Bridges of Faith & Brotherhood in Tampa Bay We unite Tampa's growing Muslim community through faith, support, and unity.
