‘I Was Paralysed… Now I’m Running 5,000KM’ | This Morning

Esmée Gummer dreamed of becoming a professional dancer, but at age 18 and just six weeks before she was due to start dance college, complications following surgery left her paralysed from the waist down and unsure if she would ever walk again. Now aged 35, she has swapped life at her home in east London for a campervan, as she attempts to run 5,000km around the UK and Ireland. Esmée was surprised by our Alison at the weekend, who cheered her on during the challenge. They will tell us all about that special moment after Esmée runs to the studio from her home in St Albans.
