I found my dad after 27 years apart… and now he’s taking me HOME. 🇬🇳❤️ After traveling thousands of miles to Guinea to finally reunite with my father, this journey is becoming about so much more than finding him. In this episode, we leave Conakry and travel to Dinguiraye, Guinea — my father’s home and a place deeply connected to generations of my family’s history. For most of my life, I didn’t know where I came from. Now I’m traveling through the same land my family has called home for generations. When we finally arrive, I meet my little brother Habib and my stepmother Madina, see the words “Welcome Home, Cadeizia” waiting for me, and experience an unforgettable traditional welcome from my family. 🥹🇬🇳 But this vlog isn’t only about the big emotional moments. I’m experiencing what life with my family actually looks like — feeding our sheep, goats and chickens, traveling through the village with my dad, meeting what feels like HUNDREDS of relatives and community members, exploring the market, getting fitted for custom Guinean clothing, and finally getting to experience the ordinary family moments I missed for 27 years. And one of the most surreal parts? I’m learning that my family’s connection to Dinguiraye goes back generations, including through my great-great-grandfather El Hadj Umar Tall. I thought finding my dad would be the end of this story.
