Python Program to Check Prime Number or Not | Prime Number Logic Explained | Python Programming In this video, ER ARUN MAURYA explains how to write a Python program to check whether a given number is a Prime Number or Not. This is one of the most important basic Python programming programs for students, beginners, college exams, practical exams, coding interviews and programming practice. In this Python tutorial, you will understand the complete logic of checking a prime number step by step. We will first understand what a prime number is, then understand the programming logic, and finally write the complete Python program with examples and output. If you are searching for: Python program to check prime number Prime number program in Python Check number is prime or not in Python Python prime number logic Prime number Python program for beginners Python basic programs for exam Python programming important questions Python programs for students then this video is for you. 📌 WHAT IS A PRIME NUMBER? A prime number is a number greater than 1 that has only two factors: 1 and itself. For example: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23... These are prime numbers because they can only be divided exactly by 1 and the number itself. Numbers such as 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 15 are not prime numbers because they have more than two factors. In this video, we understand how Python can be used to identify whether an input number is prime or not. 📌 PYTHON PRIME NUMBER PROGRAM The program takes a number from the user and checks whether that number is divisible by any number other than 1 and itself. We use Python concepts such as: • input() • int() • if condition • else condition • for loop • range() • modulus operator (%) • break statement • logical thinking • programming fundamentals Understanding these concepts is very important for beginners who are learning Python programming. 📌 PRIME NUMBER LOGIC The basic logic is simple. First, we take a number as input. Then we check whether the number is greater than 1. If the number is greater than 1, we check whether it can be divided by another number without a remainder. The modulus operator (%) helps us check the remainder. If: n % i == 0 then the number is divisible by i and therefore it is not a prime number. If we do not find any number that divides n exactly, then the number is a prime number. This simple logic is very useful for understanding Python conditions, loops and problem solving. 📌 EXAMPLE Suppose the input number is: 17 17 can only be divided exactly by 1 and 17. Therefore: 17 is a Prime Number. Now suppose the input number is: 10 10 can be divided by 2 and 5. Therefore: 10 is Not a Prime Number. 📌 WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS VIDEO ✅ What is a prime number? ✅ How to check prime number ✅ Prime number logic ✅ Python prime number program ✅ Python if else ✅ Python for loop ✅ Python range function ✅ Python modulus operator ✅ Python break statement ✅ Taking input in Python ✅ Understanding program flow ✅ Step-by-step logic explanation ✅ Example and output ✅ Basic Python programming ✅ Python programming for beginners ✅ Important Python program for exams 📚 IMPORTANT FOR STUDENTS This type of program is very useful for students learning Python programming and basic problem solving. If you are preparing for college practical exams, programming exams, BCA, B.Tech, Diploma, computer science courses or beginner-level coding practice, you should understand the logic rather than simply memorizing the code. Prime number programs are also useful for learning how loops and conditions work together. 📌 PYTHON PROGRAMMING TOPICS Other important Python programs you should practice include: • Even or Odd Number • Positive or Negative Number • Factorial of a Number • Fibonacci Series • Palindrome Number • Armstrong Number • Reverse a Number • Sum of Digits • Greatest of Three Numbers • Swap Two Numbers • Perfect Number • Strong Number • Find Factors of a Number • Check Whether Number is Prime • Prime Numbers in a Given Range 👨‍💻 ABOUT THIS VIDEO This tutorial is explained by ER ARUN MAURYA with a focus on simple programming logic and easy-to-understand Python concepts. The goal is to help students understand the logic behind the program instead of just copying the code.
