Judgment Is the Advantage: Designing Human–AI Experiences with Claude | Guest Lecture at VIT Chennai

What happens when AI moves from being a tool we use to a system that can think, recommend, create, and act? In this guest lecture at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai, I explore how Human–Computer Interaction is changing in the age of AI — and what this means for designers, developers, and future product builders. The session, “Designing Human–AI Experiences with Claude: From Interaction to Intelligent Action,” looks beyond traditional UI design to explore how we can work with AI as a thinking partner, design collaborator, and development companion. We discuss how designers' roles are shifting from creating screens to making better decisions. Judgment decides what is worth building. As AI makes designing and building products faster, the ability to frame the right problem, understand context, challenge assumptions, evaluate outputs, and make responsible decisions becomes even more valuable. The lecture closes with a practical framework for thinking about AI not simply as software we use, but as a collaborator that can influence how products are researched, designed, built, launched and improved. About the speaker Prince Pal Singh is a UX Architect, Product Designer and Strategist with 18+ years of experience working across healthcare, SaaS, FinTech, logistics and AI. His work focuses on product design, human–AI collaboration, UX strategy, decision-making, and the changing role of designers in an AI-driven product world.
