The Lamb of God – You Wash Me Clean

This song is the English translation of the original German song “Das Lamm Gottes – Du wäschst mich rein”. This song was inspired by the biblical message of Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1;29). The words “You wash me clean” point to being cleansed from all sin through the blood of Jesus (1 John 1;7) and to salvation by grace through faith (Ephesians 2;8–9). From this came a personal song of worship about forgiveness, grace, the cross, and the hope we have in Jesus Christ. The Lamb of God – You Wash Me Clean [Verse 1] I come to You with empty hands With everything that I have carried You know my sin, You know my weakness Yet Your grace will never fail At the cross You gave Your life You paid the price for all my sin The Lamb of God, You gave Yourself And opened up the way to God [Chorus] You wash me clean, You wash me clean By Your blood I can come to You You wash me clean, You wash me clean By Your grace You make me new The Lamb of God, Jesus alone In You my hope will always remain You wash me clean, You wash me clean I belong to You, I am Yours [Verse 2] Not by my works can I be saved Not by my strength am I made righteous By grace alone I live forever Through Jesus Christ, my Lord You have defeated death forever The grave could never hold You down Now through Your Son the way is open To the Father I can come [Chorus] You wash me clean, You wash me clean By Your blood I can come to You You wash me clean, You wash me clean By Your grace You make me new The Lamb of God, Jesus alone In You my hope will always remain You wash me clean, You wash me clean I belong to You, I am Yours [Bridge] Behold the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world Behold the Lamb of God Who gives me life anew Not by my strength Not by what I do Only by Your grace I come to You, Lord Jesus [Chorus] You wash me clean, You wash me clean By Your blood I can come to You You wash me clean, You wash me clean By Your grace You make me new The Lamb of God, Jesus alone In You my hope will always remain You wash me clean, You wash me clean I belong to You, I am Yours [Outro] You wash me clean You wash me clean The Lamb of God Jesus, You are mine --- Artist: massl-music Song: The Lamb of God – You Wash Me Clean Lyrics & Music: © 2026 massl-music English translation of the original German song All Rights Reserved.
