Why You’re Losing the Point Before the Rally Even Starts.

At 12, we’ve started working more on the first four shots of the point: the serve, return, Serve +1 and Return +1. The goal isn’t to finish every point in four shots. It’s to start understanding how the first shot can influence what comes next, and how better decisions early in the point can create better opportunities later. In this tournament, I went back through the footage to see whether some of that work was starting to show up in real points. Not perfectly. Not every time.
