"Coordinating Pharma and Medtech Supplies for COVID-19" with Prashant Yadav

As many of you are well aware, medical supplies, including PPE, testing kits, ventilators and other critical care equipment, are in short supply globally. In severely supply-constrained markets, fragmenting the buy-side of the market can lead to perverse incentives for buyers and suppliers. The Pandemic Supply Chain Network, World Health Organization, World Economic Forum, UNICEF-Supply Division, and the World Bank are engaged in coordinating their supply response for COVID-19. Additional efforts should focus on areas which can complement the work of these agencies. Individual and collective efforts could be focused on providing/synthesizing better information about where in the value chain do the capacity bottlenecks exist, identifying suppliers who may not be currently supplying a market and sharing such information with agencies involved in supply coordination.
