Riddick, a dangerous convict with surgically enhanced night vision. The story begins when a transport ship crashes on a remote desert planet, leaving a small group of survivors stranded. As they search for food, water, and a way off the planet, they discover the world is inhabited by deadly nocturnal creatures that emerge in complete darkness. When a total eclipse plunges the planet into night, survival becomes a desperate battle against the monsters — and each other. The film explores themes of fear, survival, and morality under pressure. Riddick, initially seen as a threat to the survivors, becomes their best hope due to his ability to see in the dark. Tension builds as alliances shift and hidden motives emerge, especially between Riddick, the bounty hunter Johns, and the surviving crew. The group must learn to trust the least trustworthy among them to survive the alien predators that thrive in the dark. Pitch Black received praise for its suspenseful atmosphere, creative world-building, and Vin Diesel’s breakout performance.
