2026-07-23 RAGBRAI 2026 day 5 pt 8 - Jesup and Karras Loop

Jesup was over 77.5 miles into the official route for day 5 and was, importantly, the last pass through town before the Karras loop, which was a detail I did not fully understand. My read of the map was that we were going to go through Jesup twice. Not so. Unfortunately this caused me to tell someone we would be back even though we never came back. My bad. The Karras loop took us back around to the outskirts of Jesup, where there is a Jurassic Park with a whole bunch of Sinclair Gas Station brontosauruses apparently. Goofy little thing, which I tried to get a brief view of on video.
