I spent weeks of game time testing Foundation's bread market stalls — from the granary door right out to the edge of town — so you don't have to. How far will a market tender actually walk for bread? How many stalls does 150 people really need? What does one empty stall cost your village? I kept everything else still — the speed, the needs, the happiness, no trading — and only ever changed the one thing I was testing. Here's where I landed: your market tenders will walk about 190 metres for bread, and past about 220 metres they simply stop going. One stall on its own sold about 14 or 15 loaves a week — that's roughly enough for 40 people. And five stalls or six made no difference at all: both fed my village the same 318 loaves over the same six weeks. The part that got me was what an empty stall costs. It took six days for one of my bakers to notice, and by then happiness had already dropped to 85%. Over the next three weeks it slid down to 65%, and twelve commoner villagers left town — 150 people down to 138. This is episode three of Nanna's Lab, where I put the Foundation community's questions, issues and tips to the test with actual numbers. 00:00 - Introduction & Lab Rules 01:39 - Do More Bread Stalls Increase Consumption? 03:57 - How Far Will Market Tenders Walk? (The 190m Rule) 06:17 - Troubleshooting: Why a Stall Won’t Restock 08:48 - How Many Villagers Does One Stall Feed? 09:25 - How to Check Housing Occupancy 10:09 - What Happens When Commoners Run Out of Bread? 12:34 - Summary & The Golden Market Rule 13:30 - Northbury Trade Route & Merchant Prince Achievement 14:10 - What Should I Test Next? 🏆 The takeaway — Your granary was never the problem. Keep every market stall within about 190 metres of a granary that holds food, and build one stall for every 40 residents. Forty people is about twenty full tier 1 houses. If you missed Lab 1, where three small farms beat one big farm by more than 60%, it's here:    • Don't Build Another Wheat Farm Until You W...   And Lab 2, where the mill turned out to be starving while I blamed the bakery:    • Why Your Bread Supply is Failing | Foundat...   Have you had bread in the granary and empty stalls in the market? How far is your furthest stall from a granary? Tell me in the comments — the best ideas for these experiments come from the community, and I read every one. Thank you so much for watching. If this saved you a stall or two, please like the video and subscribe so you catch the next experiment. See you in the lab. #foundation #CityBuilder #NannasLab #CozyGaming
