Ragging, bullying or just a part of medical college culture? Let’s TALK! 💀
Medical college life isn’t just about anatomy, physiology, practicals and exams. There’s an entire senior-junior culture that comes with it, and today we’re talking about something almost every medical student has an opinion about: RAGGING!
In this video, we’re discussing EVERYTHING about ragging culture in Indian medical colleges — from so-called introductions and senior-junior bonding to actual bullying, humiliation and toxic behaviour.
We’ll talk about:
How ragging actually works in medical colleges.
Introduction vs ragging — where do we draw the line?
Seniors making juniors dance, sing, introduce themselves and do their work.
Making juniors prepare files and running errands for seniors.
Why ragging is severe in some medical colleges while almost non-existent in others.
Anti-Ragging Committees and how the system works nowadays.
Toxic teachers and faculty experiences during first year MBBS.
My personal experiences and stories shared by other medical students.
The whole debate around senior-junior bonding, traditions and unnecessary power dynamics.
Is it really about building confidence and bonding with seniors, or are we just normalising bullying in the name of tradition?
This is an honest, unfiltered conversation about the things we experience, witness and sometimes don’t even talk about openly in medical college.
Whether you’re a NEET aspirant, a fresher, a first-year MBBS student, a senior or someone who’s already graduated — I’m sure you’ll have something to say about this!
LET’S DISCUSS IN THE COMMENTS: What has your ragging or introduction experience been like? And where do YOU draw the line between bonding and bullying?
