What If Every MTG Color Had Its Own Metal Song? | WUBRG

What would the five colors of Magic: The Gathering sound like if each one had its own song? CHAPTERS 00:00 - Survival of the Purest | Mono White 05:24 - The Mind's Eye | Mono Blue 11:39 - The Grand Evolution | Mono Black 17:57 - The Art of Destruction | Mono Red 22:02 - The Great Conduit | Mono Green This is WUBRG, five songs built around White, Blue, Black, Red, and Green, with each track written to reflect the philosophy, personality, creatures, magic, and worldview of that color. One of my favorite parts of making these is the writing process. I spend an absurd amount of time digging through Magic cards and searching for the right flavor text to tell each story. Roughly 90% of the lyrics in these songs come directly from actual flavor text associated with cards of that color, then I arrange those lines into verses, choruses, bridges, and narratives that hopefully feel like the color itself is speaking. And here's something I would genuinely love to see: If you're a musician and one of these songs speaks to you, remake it. Take it in your own direction. Change the arrangement. Play it with a full band. Make it heavier. Make it acoustic. Turn it into power metal, death metal, punk, folk, orchestral music — whatever you hear in it. If you do, send it to me or tag me so I can hear it and share it. The idea of actual musicians taking these songs and turning them into something of their own would be incredibly cool. And if people enjoy this project, there is a ridiculous amount of unexplored territory left in Magic. Two-color guilds. Three-color combinations. Colorless. Phyrexia. Planes. Commanders. Entire sets. So let me know what you want to hear next.
