Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been fascinated by fairytale princesses, elegant dresses, and intricately decorated cakes. My most vivid childhood memory is the cake the three good fairies tried to bake for Aurora in Sleeping Beauty! That dream stayed with me, and I always wished that one day I could bake elaborate, tiered celebration cakes. When I took cake decorating courses years ago, vintage Lambeth piping wasn’t taught—modern, minimalist styles and fondant were the trends back then. But ever since vintage and coquette cakes made their comeback, I’ve been dreaming of trying one. So here it is: decorating my very first vintage cake! It might not be technically perfect, but I truly enjoyed every single swirl, learned so much along the way, and can’t wait to make many more. I hope watching this relaxing process brings a little sweetness and calm to your day. Let me know in the comments: what’s a skill you’ve always wanted to try for the first time?
