Today on the podcast is my good friend and crowd favorite Eva Shute Director of Gymnastics Operations who provides awesome information to help parents wrap their heads around competitive gymnastics. We share ideas and things we have done in our gym that have been extremely successful to help build better parent communication relationships and when someone's really having a tough time or there may be a nightmare parent or coach, we explain what have we done practically to successfully fix these things. I really believe that this parent episode is super important to get better long-term outcomes for everyone's happiness the coaches, the parents, and most importantly the gymnasts. We DISCUSS; 06:03 How to navigate the culture and the craziness that is competitive gymnastics. 13:31 How to develop a parent support structure. 31:34 My daughter is 5 years old why does she need to compete? 41:25 The time commitment, what can parents expect? 51:56 Why moving up gymnastics levels is not like moving up a grade in school. 1:06:57 Goals can change. 1:11:20 Three do's and don'ts of meet etiquette. 1:33:16 The difference between optional and compulsory levels. 1:48:37 How puberty affects gymnasts in their optional years of training and competing and what parents can do to help support. 1:57:11 Advice for parents, gymnasts, or coaches who are not in a good environment?
