BAND “InCrescenDO” Youth Wind Orchestra CONDUCTOR Fabio Porte VENUE AND DATE Conservatorio di Milano, Sala Verdi (Milan, Italy) - 16 October 2022 【楽曲解説】 『IncrescenDOverture（インクレッシェンド序曲）』は、作曲家とファビオ・ポルテ率いる青少年吹奏楽団「InCrescenDO（インクレッシェンド）」との特別な出会いから生まれた、吹奏楽のためのオリジナル作品です。この出会いのきっかけとなったのは、2017年4月に開催された国際コンクール「フリコルノ・ドーロ（Flicorno d’Oro）」第19回大会でした。ヴァルキウゼッラ、ヴァッレ・サクラ、カナヴェーゼといった地域の若者で構成されるこの若いピエモンテのアンサンブルは、ルカ・ペッティナート作曲の課題曲『Rubus Adventure』を演奏し、同部門で見事優勝を果たしました。彼らの完璧かつ洗練された演奏に感銘を受けた作曲家は、この楽団と彼らの素晴らしい音楽的成長の歩みに対し、新たな作品を捧げることを決意しました。 本作は、歴史ある有名な「イヴレアのカーニバル」の公式アンセムである『Canzone del Carnevale（カーニバルの歌）』の旋律を基に構成されています。この歌は1858年にフェルディナンド・ボジオが作詞し、ロレンツォ・オリヴィエリとアンジェロ・ブルバッティが作曲したものです。この主題は、イタリア最古の市民祭としての強い象徴的意味を帯びており、「ヴェッツォーザ・ムニャイア（美しき粉屋の娘）」の伝説や、圧政に対する民衆の蜂起といった物語と結びついています。 様式の面において、作曲家は交響詩のような描写的な形式を避け、作品を捧げる楽団の名称そのものに焦点を当てる道を選びました。これにより、吹奏楽のレパートリーによく見られる過度な描写音楽とは一線を画すアプローチをとっています。 （ルカ・ペッティナート） “IncrescenDOverture” is an original composition for wind band that came about as a result of a special encounter: that between the composer and the “InCrescenDO” youth wind orchestra, led by Fabio Porte. The occasion was the 19th edition of the “Flicorno d’Oro” international competition in April 2017, where the young Piedmontese ensemble - whose members hail from Valchiusella, Valle Sacra and Canavese - triumphed in their category by performing the set piece “Rubus Adventure” composed by Luca Pettinato. Impressed by their impeccable and refined performance, the composer decided to dedicate a new piece to the group and their extraordinary journey of musical development. The composition is based on the melodies of the “Canzone del Carnevale” (see below), the official anthem of the famous and historic Ivrea Carnival, written in 1858 by Ferdinando Bosio and set to music by Lorenzo Olivieri and Angelo Burbatti. This theme carries with it the strong symbolic value of Italy’s oldest civic festival, linked to the legend of the “Vezzosa Mugnaia” and the popular uprising against tyranny. From a stylistic point of view, the composer chose to avoid the descriptive form of the symphonic poem, preferring to focus on the very name of the group to whom the work is dedicated and distancing himself from the overabundance of descriptive music typical of the band repertoire.
