What does it feel like to explore a brand-new museum dedicated to the power of storytelling? 🦋 Come with me on a journey through the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, which opened to the public on September 22, 2026, in historic Exposition Park. The museum was co-founded by George Lucas, the filmmaker best known for creating Star Wars, and Mellody Hobson. Their idea was to create a museum dedicated to the universal tradition of telling stories through images—from ancient cave paintings to illustration, comics, photography, murals, cinema, and more. The museum itself is an incredible part of the experience. Designed by architect Ma Yansong of MAD Architects, with Stantec, the approximately 300,000-square-foot building has a unique, flowing shape that blends into the surrounding landscape. In this video, I’ll take you through three important parts of my visit: 📚 The Research Library — a beautiful space filled with books, archives, comics, and resources connected to art, cinema, illustration, mythology, and storytelling. The library is free for visitors to access. 🎨 Narrative Art — the heart of the museum, where we discover how artists from different cultures and periods have used images to tell stories, express ideas, preserve history, and share human experiences. The museum has more than 30 galleries and more than 100,000 square feet of gallery space. 🌿 The Park & Gardens — a 13-acre outdoor landscape surrounding the museum, with gardens, walking paths, public spaces, and monumental sculptures. The landscape was designed by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA and was created as an extension of the museum experience. So, this is more than just a museum visit—it is a journey through books, art, movies, history, imagination, nature, and human stories. Follow me 🦋 as we explore the Lucas Museum step by step. I hope you enjoy this journey with me! #LucasMuseum #NarrativeArt #LosAngeles #MuseumJourney #ExploringCalifornia
