Map out the sections (Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Solo). Analyze the Chords: What's the progression? The root is usually the first note of the bar. Use Nashville Numbers: Figure out the number system for this track—it makes transposing and long-term memorization a breeze. 2. Fretboard Mechanics Know Your Notes: Don't just read the tab numbers—what are the actual letter notes you are playing?
