S Y N O P S I S: Otaku looks at the obsessive urban male Japanese society, who prefer the virtual reality of home computers to the outside world. The documentary is a penetrating look at the many different youth subcultures in Japan that have proven so increasingly dominant in the past few decades. T I P: And for the millionth time, the word "otaku" means the passion towards what you love to do the most. It's not a specific thing about being an anime fanatic or not.
