The sudden release of water from Shintaphu Lake has damaged infrastructure in Bhutan and raised concerns over a possible rise in the Sankosh River. Authorities have issued alerts in Alipurduar, Cooch Behar and Dhubri, while NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed in vulnerable areas.
