SUNDAY SERVICE | The Holy Spirit: The Life and Power of the Church | Acts 1:8

The Church was brought to life and empowered by the Holy Spirit in its existence. He is vital to the life of the church. He makes us holy (2 Thessalonians 2:13), reveals truth to us (John 14:17), teaches us (John 14:26), gives us wisdom (James 1:5), and empowers us (Acts 1:8). The life, power, purity, unity, and effective witness of a church depend on reliance on the Holy Spirit. He gives us direction and empowerment, even as the church pursues God’s mission in the world and within itself.
