Traffic was moving on the 101—until a warning about a jam ahead sent me toward the hills and an unorthodox route to West Hollywood. This drive begins in rainy Westlake Village and continues under overcast skies. Everything is going smoothly on the 101 South, but approaching Van Nuys Boulevard, I hear about traffic ahead and decide to exit. From there, the drive takes an unexpected path through Sherman Oaks, along Valley Vista and Beverly Glen, across Mulholland Drive, and down Coldwater Canyon. Cherokee Drive, Loma Vista, and Doheny Road carry us through the hills before Sunset, San Vicente, and Melrose bring us into West Hollywood. We finish near Rosewood and La Cienega. Every drive is different. Sometimes the best route isn’t the shortest—it’s the route that keeps moving. Ride along for a real Los Angeles POV drive. No music. No commentary. Just the drive. 00:00 On our way00:32 Westlake Village02:36 101 South10:00 Calabasas17:00 Tarzana20:28 Encino23:28 Exiting the 101 — Traffic Jam Ahead25:08 Sherman Oaks28:16 Beverly Glen31:20 Mulholland Drive35:40 Coldwater Canyon40:00 Cherokee Drive43:24 Loma Vista45:00 Doheny Road48:40 Sunset Boulevard50:00 San Vicente Boulevard53:04 Melrose Avenue #RideShotgunLA #LosAngelesDriving #WestHollywood
