🌲 Elf Ball is BACK in MTG Arena Historic — and Craterhoof Behemoth is back too!
Welcome back to more MTG Arena Historic gameplay, and today we're playing an updated version of our favorite Elf Ball deck!
This time around, we've made some changes to the deck, including bringing back Craterhoof Behemoth as one of our biggest finishers. With enough Elves on the battlefield, Craterhoof can turn a wide board into a massive attack by giving our creatures +1/+1 and trample, making it an excellent way to close out games.
🐘 Craterhoof Behemoth Is Back!
Craterhoof Behemoth gives Elf Ball a powerful late-game finisher and also works extremely well with Green Sun's Zenith, allowing us to tutor directly for our biggest threat when we're ready to end the game. With the right board setup, a single Craterhoof can turn a board full of small Elves into a lethal attack.
🌿 Nature's Rhythm Adds Another Tutor
We're also testing Nature's Rhythm, another powerful addition to the Elf Ball strategy.
Nature's Rhythm can help us find the Elves we need, giving the deck another way to consistently assemble its board. Its Harmonize ability also gives us a way to reuse the card from the graveyard for a higher mana cost while receiving a discount based on the power of the creature we tap. That makes Nature's Rhythm a potentially powerful and reusable tutor for the deck.
🧝 New Elves Join the Team
We're also keeping some of the newer Elf additions, including Cantankerous Keepers and Woodland Weavemaster. These cards give the deck additional ways to build a wide board, generate mana, and maintain pressure while working toward our Craterhoof Behemoth finisher.
With Green Sun's Zenith, Nature's Rhythm, powerful mana generation, and Craterhoof Behemoth as our finisher, this updated Elf Ball deck has plenty of ways to assemble a threatening board.
🌲 With the changes to Historic on MTG Arena, can Elf Ball still compete? Let's find out! @AspiringTrainer
