THE ARTIST | SHORT FILM

The film follows a day in the life of an old man suffering from Alzheimer’s. He wakes believing it is his daughter’s birthday and spends the day preparing for it. Through fragmented glimpses, we see his daughter appear in moments blurred between memory and reality. As part of his preparations, he begins creating a doll for her; a gift he carefully crafts from scratch. His hands remember what his mind cannot, revealing the artist within him. He is in a confused state of mind where he forgets, repeats, and loses track of time, his day slowly reveals itself as a loop. His daughter has been gone for years, but in his mind, every day is still her birthday.
