Instead of their usual straight-up hard rock distortion, there was a little TWANG to it that gave the song more of an indie rock / pop-rock feel. It actually reminded me a little bit of *Poppy’s “Megadeth”* — not necessarily that the songs sound the same, but there was something about that slightly twangy, alternative guitar sound mixed with much heavier instrumentation that gave me a similar vibe. BUT... then you have Akane throwing in double bass and these HUGE drum and bass fills that you normally wouldn't expect in that style of music. 😂🥁🔥 And once again, BAND-MAID proves to me that you really CAN'T put this band in a box. They don't just play different styles from song to song — sometimes they're playing multiple styles INSIDE THE SAME SONG. At this point, BAND-MAID almost feels like its own genre. The CHORUS was definitely the standout for me. Saiki delivered a really catchy, beautiful melody that pulled everything together. Was it a complete face-melter that launched me 10 miles deep into THE GAP?
